WELCOME TO MY CULINARY WORLD, INSPIRED BY THE ANCESTRAL NUTRITION OF OUR GRANDMOTHERS AND MERGED
WITH MODERN EPICUREAN TRENDS AND THE HEALTHY BASICS OF OUR "PALEOLITHIC" ANCESTORS.
Through this book, Marie-Soleil aims to highlight certain dietary trends that she finds beneficial
according to your personal needs :
A cookbook without desserts? Why? Desserts shouldn't be part of your daily life, but
rather be eaten as an occasional treat? Willpower and perseverance are required at first, but
your taste buds will quickly adapt to the rich flavors of nutrient-dense foods.
Over time, you'll also be satisfied with less sugar; customers have been reporting this every week for
years!
See notes on artificial sugars in the glossary. We have some free "healthy" desserts on the site and an
e-book coming in 2021 to offer them "separately" to reinforce the mental image that desserts should be
added sparingly!
The pegan diet, sometimes called paleo-vegan, is a modern bridge between paleo and an abundance of vegetables.
This new term is interesting since the term paleo is sometimes misidentified as the meat-eating excesses of the "Cro-Magnon" type.
This dietary philosophy was popularized by Mark Hyman, MD. This doctor practices
preventive medicine called "functional medicine" in the United States and has participated in numerous documentaries
on nutrition, including Fed Up.
The AIP diet: see Glossary and Ideas. A diet designed to support people with autoimmune
or inflammatory problems.
The ketogenic (keto) diet: not for everyone, as Marie-Soleil often explains in her blog and on social media,
but very beneficial in certain circumstances such as prediabetes, diabetes, or insulin resistance.
Some authors use it in certain cases of cancer. Under medical supervision in all these cases.
The low-carb diet: low or moderate in carbohydrates. It is useful for preventing or reducing excess body fat, especially around the waist, as well as preventing several chronic health imbalances linked to excess insulin/blood glucose.
Marie-Soleil doesn't believe in diets or boring menus. Since 2010, her private consulting practice has made her realize how useless diets often are, since people too often end up giving up and returning to their old habits. They quickly regain the weight they lost, and sometimes even more! Why? Because diets don't teach people anything. Without UNDERSTANDING, it's difficult to make good, self-reflective choices. His first book teaches you how to understand your plate, while this new book will enlighten you when choosing ingredients and help you spice up your favorite recipes healthily, such as weekend protein pancakes! Additionally, this book is influenced by the pegan eating philosophy developed by Dr. Mark Hyman. It combines the best values of paleo with an abundance of plants.
