Highly bioavailable essential fatty acid and phospholipid complex
Krill-plex is derived from Antarctic krill, a zooplankton species with a unique natural balance of omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, and antioxidants, including astaxanthin. Krill oil contains a unique omega-phospholipid complex rich in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Carefully preserved through a unique cold-extraction process, this novel structure consists of two fatty acid side chains (EPA and DHA) on the phospholipid molecule. In addition, an astaxanthin ester is attached to the EPA, producing a complexly bonded molecule that allows the direct transfer of these nutrients into the cell nucleus and, more importantly, the mitochondria. The phospholipid-fatty acid profile closely resembles that of phospholipids in the human brain, allowing it to easily cross the blood-brain barrier. Krill oil provides an ideal balance of essential fatty acids to help maintain good health. This unique, highly bioavailable complex provides specific support for joint comfort and inflammation regulation. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study suggests that krill oil promotes joint comfort and reduces blood levels of C-reactive protein, a clinical marker of inflammation. In addition, the results demonstrated statistically significant support for joint flexibility and function.
