Description
BioLivX contains a variety of nutrients and herbs proven to have benefits in protecting and improving liver function, as well as supporting detoxification pathways. Sodium glucuronate supports the phase II detoxification pathway by providing the precursor to glucuronidation. Conjugation of glucuronic acid with a wide variety of functional groups, including hydroxyls, phenols, and carboxyls, occurs in the liver and intestine.
Licorice has been shown to have hepatoprotective effects, including protection against toxins such as carbon tetra-chloride, as well as excess free fatty acids that accompany non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Alpha-lipoic acid is a water- and fat-soluble antioxidant involved in hepatoprotection and prevention of cell damage. It has the ability to change the redox status of cells and interact with thiols, thereby increasing the glutathione content of the liver.
Silybin is the most active flavonolignan isomer of silymarin. It acts through several pathways, including antioxidant, antilipid peroxidant, antifibrotic, anti-inflammatory and liver regenerative mechanisms. It also improves glucuronidation and protects against glutathione depletion. Schizandra, curcumin and Panax ginseng are also hepatoprotective, support detoxification pathways and improve liver function.
Dosage
Adults: 4 capsules 2 times daily or as directed by a health care practitioner. Consult a health care practitioner for use longer than 2 weeks.
