Witch Hazel Liquid Extract 1:5 USP
Witch Hazel SAP is derived from the certified organic bark of the Hamamelis virginiana species. Witch hazel has been used in herbal medicine to relieve pain, bruises, inflammation, diarrhea, and dysentery.
Many of witch hazel's therapeutic properties can be attributed to its high tannin content, which is 31 times more abundant in the bark than in the leaf extract. The tannins in witch hazel are present in the form of hamamelitannin, which gives the plant its astringent properties, allowing it to dry, tighten, and harden tissues.
In addition to its tannin content, witch hazel contains proanthocyanidins, resins, flavonoids, and small amounts of volatile oils.
Witch-Hazel SAP can be used internally or externally, as it does not contain isopropyl alcohol.
Adults: Take 1.5 ml (38 drops) three times daily or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Shake well.
Medicinal Ingredients (per 1.5 ml / 38 drops): Wild-harvested witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) stem bark (1:5 extract) ...... 300 mg dry matter equivalent. Non-medicinal Ingredients: Ethanol and purified water.
