Thyroid Support Complex is a comprehensive formula containing vitamins, minerals, and plant extracts. It has been specially designed to support healthy thyroid function. Iodine is absorbed by the thyroid gland and promotes the formation of the hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). L-Tyrosine is also a key component in thyroid hormone synthesis. Healthy selenium levels have been linked to maintaining healthy thyroid cell metabolism and thyroid hormone function. Also acting as a powerful antioxidant, selenium combines with vitamin C and curcuminoids to neutralize free radicals, including those that affect the activity of the enzyme iodothyronine 5'-monodeiodinase, the rate-limiting factor in the conversion of T4 to the more active T3 hormone. The Thyroid Support Complex also contains standardized extracts of forskohlii, guggul, and nightshade, herbs with a long history of traditional use.
