What is Symptom Relief and how does it work?
Utiva Symptom Relief is an easy-to-drink sodium citrate powder designed to provide symptomatic relief of burning and stinging associated with cystitis in women. The quick and easy formula creates a soothing effect in the urinary tract and is ideal for women looking for quick, short-term relief.
Urine is naturally slightly acidic. With cystitis, this acidity becomes a problem as hydrogen ions in the urine directly stimulate pain receptors in the bladder wall.
Sodium citrate works by neutralising that acidity. When swallowed, it is metabolised into bicarbonate, which is excreted into the urine.
This helps raise the pH of the urine from acidic to neutral or slightly alkaline and calms the bladder wall which may help relieve the discomfort associated with cystitis.
Women (18 years +): Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in a glass of water and drink. Repeat 3 times per day for 2 days.
