Reduces the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea
Balances intestinal flora
Each capsule contains 5 billion Saccharomyces boulardii bacteria
Saccharomyces boulardii is a non-pathogenic probiotic yeast that protects against antibiotic-associated diarrhea caused by an imbalance in the intestinal flora. It is resistant to local stresses, including digestive enzymes, bile salts, organic acids, as well as temperature and pH fluctuations. Because Saccharomyces boulardii is also naturally resistant to antibiotics, it can be taken by people taking antibiotics to support the digestive tract by maintaining the balance of the intestinal flora. Randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials, all conducted in hundreds of adults using antibiotics, have demonstrated a significant preventive effect on cases of diarrhea. Additionally, Saccharomyces boulardii is the only probiotic to have demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing recurrent diarrhea associated with C. difficile, which is responsible for approximately 10–20% of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Each Saccharomyces boulardii capsule contains 5 billion colony-forming units (CFU).
Adults: Take 2 capsules 1 to 2 times daily between meals, at least 2 to 3 hours before or after taking antifungal medications, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
