Red yeast rice is made from rice fermented with a specific yeast called Monascus purpureus. It contains natural compounds, monacolins, which help to reduce LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels, as an excess can be harmful. It also inhibits the production of HMG-CoA, a molecule essential for cholesterol synthesis.
In addition to 300 mg of red yeast rice, CanPrev's Red Yeast Rice Complex contains other ingredients that contribute to the maintenance and support of cardiovascular health. Coenzyme Q10 ubiquinol plays an important role in heart health by reducing oxidative stress and converting food into energy. Added vitamin C improves the absorption of coenzyme Q10 while providing beneficial antioxidants. A low dose of vitamin D3 offers a protective effect by strengthening blood vessel walls, while choline helps reduce inflammation and prevent fat accumulation in the liver. Lecithin is a natural fatty substance believed to help balance cholesterol levels by emulsifying fats and facilitating their elimination, along with cholesterol, from the body. CanPrev's Red Yeast Rice Complex was designed to provide cells with the essential nutrients we need in greater quantities as we age.
