Probiotics are beneficial bacteria normally found in a healthy gastrointestinal system. When a person suffers from digestive issues—which can range from bloating and indigestion to conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease—probiotics can often help reduce or eliminate symptoms by restoring a healthy balance.
