Physiologically active vitamin B6
Contributes to tissue formation, red blood cell production, and energy metabolism
Provides 50 mg of pyridoxal 5-phosphate per capsule
P5P 50 contains pyridoxal 5-phosphate (P5P), the active metabolite and predominant form of plasma pyridoxine (vitamin B6). P5P has a positive influence on many physiological functions, providing important nutritional support as a coenzyme of over 140 enzymes. It is highly present in muscles, where it plays an important role in carbohydrate metabolism by contributing to the breakdown of glycogen into glucose. It is essential for amino acid metabolism, including the conversion of methionine to cysteine and tryptophan to niacin. This B vitamin also helps metabolize fats and is necessary for the breakdown of essential fatty acids. P5P is required for the efficient assimilation and absorption of vitamin B12 and magnesium, as well as for the production of gastric hydrochloric acid. Vitamin B6 also contributes to tissue formation and red blood cell production, in addition to helping maintain the cellular balance between sodium and potassium.
