Ortho Iron contains SunActive®, a superior form of iron that has been shown to be better absorbed and much better tolerated than other iron products on the market. SunActive® contains ferric pyrophosphate, a type of iron that has undergone particle size reduction for better absorption and is bound to a food-grade emulsifier to prevent clumping. These two factors give it bioavailability equal to that of pharmaceutical-grade iron. Ortho Iron also contains several other nutrients that promote iron absorption and prevent the oxidative effects associated with iron supplementation. These include vitamins C, B6, B12, folate, lactoferrin, and copper, all of which are essential for iron absorption and utilization.
