Magnesium Complex Liquid is a concentrated combination of three organic sources of magnesium, including glycinate, citrate, and malate. Magnesium is one of the most common nutritional deficiencies in Canada: more than 34% of Canadians aged 19 and older do not consume the Estimated Average Requirement (EAR) of magnesium, a number exceeding 40% among older men and women. Magnesium, the fourth most abundant mineral in the body, is a cofactor in more than 300 metabolic reactions. Magnesium plays an important role in regulating muscle function as a cofactor for creatine kinase, an enzyme that generates ATP from phosphocreatine stored in muscle tissue during intense exercise. Magnesium supplementation has been shown to improve anaerobic alactic metabolism and help reduce the frequency and intensity of muscle cramps in pregnant women (who generally have lower serum magnesium levels). Each tablespoon of Magnesium Complex Liquid provides 500 mg of magnesium to also support macronutrient metabolism and bone health.
