Promotes a healthy cellular immune response to support natural immunity
Innate Immune Support is designed to promote a cell-mediated immune response, including NK cell and macrophage activity, and may be indicated for improving natural defenses and mucosal health. Astragalus contains a variety of active components, including saponins and flavonoids, and as such has long been used in herbal medicine to maintain immune and cytokine balance. In vitro and animal studies suggest that astragalus supports NK cell activity as well as serum levels of IgA and IgG, key antibodies that play an important role in mucosal immune defense. Reishi mushroom is a good source of polysaccharides that support cell-mediated immunity. This formula includes reishi mushroom fruiting body extract and cultured reishi extract, providing the unique and highly purified polysaccharide beta-1,3/1,6-glucan. This formula also contains a clinically studied extract of andrographis, an herb best known for its bioactive compound, andrographolide, and other diterpene lactones.
