HMFMD Women's Daily is a formula specially formulated to meet the unique needs of women. Each shelf-stable capsule contains 17.6 billion CFUs of a combination of seven research-backed probiotic strains that helps restore and maintain vaginal flora. The vagina is a complex ecosystem that can be altered by many factors, including age, medication use, sexual activity, hygiene habits, and hormone production. Lactobacilli are the dominant vaginal microorganisms in healthy women; they help maintain the vaginal microflora. They compete with other microorganisms for nutrients and adherence to the vaginal epithelium, lower vaginal pH by producing organic acids (primarily lactic acid), and produce antimicrobial compounds, such as bacteriocins and hydrogen peroxide. In addition to two species of bifidobacteria, HMFMD Women's Daily contains three species of lactobacilli chosen for their natural presence in women's flora. This blend contains L. rhamnosus HN001 and L. acidophilus (LA-14), which have particularly beneficial effects on the vaginal flora. This probiotic combination also colonizes the small and large intestines to support gastrointestinal health. Adults: Take 1 capsule daily or as directed by your healthcare professional. For recurrent urinary tract infections, take 2 capsules daily or as directed by your healthcare professional.
