HMF Forte is a combination of four proprietary human-source probiotic strains that promote gastrointestinal health in adults and children. Supplements containing high levels of these combinations of microorganisms help maximize intestinal colonization. In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 22 adults, daily consumption of probiotic supplements containing Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL-60 and CUL-21) stimulated the recovery of microflora following its alteration by antibiotics. Similarly, research has also shown that a probiotic supplement containing CUL-21 can significantly colonize the intestines of a healthy adult. Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria are the most commonly used probiotics and are safe for adults and children. They colonize the intestines, promote the release of antimicrobial peptides from host cells, and reduce pathogen proliferation. Probiotics also control epithelial cell permeability by monitoring the formation of tight junctions and preventing pathogen adhesion to cells by increasing the release of mucins on the intestinal surface.
Adults: Take 1 capsule 2 times daily with meals, at least 2 to 3 hours before or after taking antibiotics, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
