HMF® capsules provide four patented probiotic strains that temporarily modify the intestinal flora in adults and children. The composition of the intestinal microflora is relatively stable, although it can be altered by diet, stress, age, and medications. Probiotics promote the presence of beneficial bacteria that help maintain a healthy intestine. In addition to reducing pathogen survival by increasing the release of antimicrobial peptides from host cells, probiotics also strengthen the epithelial barrier. They support the integrity of tight junctions, which control permeability, and increase the release of mucins, which prevent pathogens from adhering to intestinal surface cells. HMF® capsules contain research-derived strains of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria to promote colonization of the small and large intestines.
Adults: Take 2 capsules twice daily with meals, at least 2 to 3 hours before or after taking antibiotics, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
