The crab apple flower, also called Mulus pumila or wild apple blossom in French. It has five white petals, sometimes with shades of pink, a color that captures the light well and evokes purity, arranged around a center composed of yellow stamens. It is a fragile-looking flower with delicate petals, because its roots are shallow. It blooms in spring, during the months of May and June, and then produces small apples nearby that are picked after the first frosts.
It grows on wild apple trees, trees that can reach five to ten meters in height with a dense crown, which gives them a robust appearance. It grows throughout Europe and has a highly developed adaptability, as it can thrive on all types of soil. They also tolerate sub-zero temperatures very well. The crab apple is a fairly independent forest tree, as trees of the same species rarely grow next to each other.
