Carduus is a homeopathic preparation indicated primarily for gallbladder disorders, with beneficial effects on the liver. It is used to treat hepatic and biliary disorders (whether acute, subacute, or chronic), focusing on gallbladder issues, constipation, portal stasis, and hemorrhoids, as well as liver conditions accompanied by constipation and difficulty digesting fats.
Carduus works by promoting bile secretion, which improves fat digestion, relieves constipation by stimulating intestinal peristalsis, and helps eliminate small gallstones (biliary sludge). It also possesses antispasmodic properties and stimulates blood circulation in the portal vein.
