Broad-spectrum digestive formula designed to improve the absorption of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Provides a clinical dose of HCl and a betaine and L-glutamic acid complex to restore optimal gastric pH in less than 10 minutes. BioDigest is a comprehensive formula designed to improve the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and micronutrients. Decreased acid production is associated with several pathologies as well as the normal aging process. This decrease can impair the absorption of several micronutrients (including zinc, iron, and vitamin B12) and contribute to bacterial overgrowth in the intestinal tract. The use of hydrochloric acid complexed with betaine and glutamic acid has been shown to normalize gastric pH in participants with decreased acid production, achieving a pH below 3 in less than 10 minutes and lasting more than 70 minutes. This pH normalization effectively improves the absorption of substances that depend on a low gastric pH. BioDigest also provides pancreatic enzymes designed to restore normal digestion in patients with impaired exocrine pancreatic function, with protease, amylase, and lipase activity for the digestion of all macronutrients. Furthermore, bile acids stimulate brown adipose tissue activity, exhibit antimicrobial activity in the small intestine, and have previously unknown systemic metabolic and endocrine effects, influencing thyroid function, glucose and lipid metabolism and homeostasis. Finally, pepsin A is the primary gastric proteolytic enzyme, and its action indirectly stimulates prodigestive functions by triggering the release of gastrin and CCK.
